What is reverse wireless charging?

Reverse wireless charging is a feature that allows a smartphone to act as a charging pad for other devices that support wireless charging. This technology was first introduced by Huawei in 2018 with their Mate 20 Pro model.

With reverse wireless charging, users can place another device, such as a smartwatch or wireless earbuds, on the back of their smartphone to charge it wirelessly. This feature is particularly useful when you need to charge multiple devices on the go and do not have access to a power outlet.

Reverse wireless charging works by using electromagnetic induction to transfer power from one device to another. The charging device (in this case, the smartphone) sends out an electromagnetic field that is picked up by the receiving device, which then converts the energy into electricity to charge its battery.

While reverse wireless charging is convenient, it is not as fast or efficient as traditional charging methods. It typically charges devices at a slower rate and can drain the battery of the charging device faster. However, it can still be a useful feature in certain situations where convenience is a priority.
